Had a great time in glasto, loads of friends old & new were there - so got loads of hugs...*grin!

Was great being able to relax with like-minded people around a fire pit drinking mead & swapping silly stories and jokes..lol...

downs ide was the smoke fumes following me around making me need a cigarette...lol!  plus of course the dubious weather - mind you when it was nice it was fantastic!

Back to Cambridge, and back to work tomorrow :-( 

Now continuing the ongoing saga of my job & accommodation.... I was going to move into student accommodation on addenbrookes site this weekend, but had a phone call today that I have the option of moving into the permanent accommodation instead of the student (£230 a month all in but one of 12 rooms to a dorm & share facilities) rooms, which will give me a 13x13 room, with built in wardrobes, a bed, desk, sink, table & chairs, plus tv & phone sockets, but it will cost me £80 a week in advance, all in - no bills whatsoever apart from food.  compared to 240 a month.

I have chosen the permanent one, but it means the money that I had saved for moving etc and living on till payday will be all used up paying the advance rent - leaving about £40 to last till the 23rd.  oh well I guess pasta and lentils for the next 2 weeks...lol.

Still, I should be able to save loads now I wont be using the bike so much.

This weekend I should also have my little BSA starfire motorbike back from the workshop where its being MOT'd so I shall beable to play on that next week too! ***GRIN!!!!

So all in all things are looking up! YAY!

Will try to arrange some kind of housewarming once I'm settled - will depend on the other inhabitants tho.

I've finally done it!

I've finally quit my 10am to 10pm, 12 days on 2 days off, every other weekend working for peanuts job caring for the elderly around cambridge!!

YAY!! Yippee!!!

1.    I have now started working at Addenbrookes hospital as an Occupational Therapy Assistant!

Mon - fri, 08.30 - 4.30pm   NO WEEKENDS!!!  YAY!!!

An extra 5,000 a year pay rise from what I was on before, plus its a regular wage that stays the same each month!! YAY!!

Done my first week there now - seems fine - nice people!

2.   On 9th May I get the key for my place in the hospital accomodation - £230 a month - ALL IN!! NO BILLS!!  Not even Council tax!! YAY!!!

3.   From what I can work out, I will be saving/not having to spend ...

-100 a month petrol (will be able to walk to work!)
-100 a month bills & council tax
-150 a month rent

Giving me an EXTRA 350 a month, PLUS the increase in wages!!!

YAY!!!  I might actually be able to start saving something!!   (Once I've paid off what I owe of course...)

So things are definitely looking up!

So with a bit of luck With all this new-found freedom & bit of extra cash, I might actually be able to get a life, and even better, perhaps someone to share it with!!

YAY!!

Just thought I would post this bit of randomness on here

This recently has been the time of Imbolc, (literally meaning ewe's milk from lambing that takes place now)  a time of planting seeds for the new year and planning how you want it to go.

I have decided that this is also going to be a time of change for me too.  I have this week (12th) been in hospital and had my hernia repaired under general anaesthetic, and whilst I was there I asked the surgeon to give me a vasectomy, so on a 2 for 1 offer I got that done as well.   The nurses and staff at addenbrookes were really nice and helpful and friendly - sounds funny to say this but I had a really good time in there!

I was collected from hospital by fuschiafaery and generally  fussed over, cuddled, nagged, and cared for so much that I am so loved up its untrue! *grin!   Thank you!

I now have 6 weeks off in order to recover - I'm sure it wont actually last long really!  I'm going to be bored stupid and hate it but I'll get through.

I am applying for loads of jobs, as I dont really want to stay where I am doing the care work, its ok, but 10am to 10.15pm is a long day, even with a break, and it really kills the social life too.  So time to change that.

I'm also looking for somewhere new to live, fairly cheap as I'm going to be starting at the bottom again I expect, but anywhere within travelling distance of cambridge would do i expect.  The place I'm at at the moment, whilst wonderful - landlady is the greatest! - I am very restricted there & cant easily have friends round and certainly not any girlfriend..lol.  (walls are thin..lol)

So basically I've put myself in the hands of the gods, and whilst I have no major rush to do either of the above, a new job with good money and somewhere new to live all in 6 weeks would be brilliant!

So if anyone hears of anythign good please let me know
